“NORTH”(2020)
Rooted strongly in classical Indian rhythms, but using a newly developed movement vocabulary, North uses precision to ignite chaos. Centrifugal and magnetic forces drive these bodies into prescribed circular trajectories, while they compete in an eternal struggle for control, surrender and revolt.
“...perfectly embodies the epistemological crises of both the mind and body...”
“a mesmerizing trio [that] relies heavily on the precision and accuracy of the three dancers..”
“Agrawal draws on the vocabulary of kathak and bharatanatyam to etch different images of circularity, dispersion and unity...undoubtedly a highlight of the evening.”
